Frequently Asked Questions

Got questions? We've got answers! Here's everything you need to know about You Waggle, from getting started to going Premium. If you don't see what you're looking for, reach out through the app, email support@youwaggle.com or visit youwaggle.com.

What is You Waggle?

You Waggle is a free mobile app that helps you save, organize, and share the products, services, and recommendations that matter to you. Think of it as the one place where your stuff (your wishlists, your favorites, your gift ideas, your household items) all lives together, neatly organized and easy to share with the people in your life. Inspired by the waggle dance of honeybees (yes, really!), You Waggle is all about sharing great finds with your circle.

What can I use You Waggle for?

You can use You Waggle for everyday things like:

• Gift ideas and wishlists

• Favorite products, books, or beauty items

• Household items and home projects

• Services you recommend

• Shopping and travel ideas

• Recipes and things friends told you about

It's flexible on purpose. Your Waggle can be practical, personal, fun, or all three.

Is You Waggle only a wishlist app?

Nope! Wishlists are one great way to use You Waggle, but the app is designed for a lot more. You can track things you already own, things you need, products you love, services you recommend, items people have shared with you, and lists you want to organize or share with others. Think of it as your personal recommendation and organization hub.

Is You Waggle only a shopping app?

Not at all. You Waggle can help with shopping, but it's really about remembering, organizing, sharing, and finding useful things again when you need them. You don't have to buy anything to get a ton of value out of it.

Who is You Waggle for?

You Waggle is helpful for families, gift givers, organizers, social shoppers, busy parents, friends who share recommendations, people who love lists, and anyone who has ever said "I need to remember that." If you've ever lost a great recommendation in a text thread or forgotten what you saw on Instagram last week, You Waggle was made for you.

What does "Waggle" mean?

The name was inspired by bees. When a honeybee finds something good, she does a waggle dance to show the whole hive where to find it: how far, which direction, and how worth it the trip is. You Waggle is built around that same idea. Save what matters, organize it, and share the good stuff with your people.

How do I sign up?

Signing up is quick and free! Just download You Waggle from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android), then:'

• Enter your email address or phone number

• Verify with the code we send you

• Create a password and enter your name and username

• That's it, you're in!

No credit card required to get started. You'll automatically start on the Free plan.

Is You Waggle free to use?

Yes! You Waggle is completely free to download and use. The Free plan gives you up to 100 items and 25 lists, and you can share with others right away. If you want unlimited items and lists, an ad-free experience, and advanced sharing permissions, you can upgrade to Premium for just $1.99/month or $19.99/year.

Where is You Waggle available?

You Waggle is available on both iOS (App Store) and Android (Google Play). You can also learn more and access resources at youwaggle.com. You Waggle is proudly based in Omaha, NE.

What happens when I first open the app?

When you create your account, You Waggle walks you through a friendly onboarding experience to get you set up fast. You'll see:

• A quick tour of the main screens (My Stuff, My Lists, My Circle)

• Helpful tooltip pop-ups that explain what each area does

• A few starter list name ideas to get you going (like "My Wishlist," "My Favorite Books," and "Everything in Our Home")

• Your plan details so you know exactly what's included

You can dismiss the tooltips anytime, and they only show once.

What is the Home screen?

The Home screen is your central hub in You Waggle. From there you can quickly add an item, create a list, add someone to My Circle, and see recent activity like invites or things that have been shared with you. It's designed to get you to the right place fast without digging around.

What are tooltips?

Tooltips are short, friendly tips that pop up when you first visit each main area of the app. They explain what each section does and how to get started. They only appear once, so you won't keep seeing them after your first visit. If you ever want a refresher, the app's feedback option in Settings is a great way to reach us.

Does You Waggle create starter lists for me?

You Waggle may suggest a few starter list ideas when you're first getting set up, like "My Wishlist," "My Favorite Books," or "Everything in Our Home." These are just inspiration to help you get going. You can use them, rename them, or ignore them and build your own from scratch.

What is "My Stuff"?

My Stuff is your personal item library. It's where you save everything: products you own, things you want, services you love, recommendations you want to remember, and anything else you want to track. Think of it as your organized digital collection of all the things that matter to you.

How do I add an item?

There are several easy ways to add an item in You Waggle:

• Quick add: tap "+ Add an Item" right in the My Stuff screen and just type the name. Fast and simple.

• Detailed add: tap the + in the upper right corner to open the full item form with all the fields.

• From a list: open any list and add items right from inside it.

• From the Home screen: tap the "Add an Item" quick action button.

• Save from Any App: while browsing Amazon, Instagram, TikTok, or almost any app, tap the Share button and choose You Waggle. The item is created for you automatically!

When you do a quick add, the item saves with smart defaults. You can always tap in to edit and fill in more details later.

What details can I add to an item?

Each item can include as much (or as little) as you want:

• Item name (the only required field)

• Type: Product or Service

• Link to where you found it

• Description

• Store or vendor

• Category (Entertainment, Grocery, Household, Personal, Services, Other)

• Ownership: "I own it" or "I need it"

• Visibility: Only Me, My Circle, or Everyone

• Up to 3 photos

• Cost and quantity

• Extra notes

What is the "I own it" vs "I need it" toggle?

When you add an item, you can mark whether you already own it or still need it. This makes it super easy to filter later. Say you want to see just your wishlist items, or just the things you already have at home. It helps you stay organized without keeping two separate lists.

Can I search and filter my items?

You bet! In My Stuff, you can search by any keyword: item name, description, you name it. You can also sort and filter by:

• Most recently updated

• Category

• Item type

• Ownership (own it / need it)

• Favorites (items you've hearted)

• Date range

Can I add photos to an item?

Yes! You can add up to 3 images to any item, whether that's a product photo, a screenshot, or a personal reference image. Photos make it easier to remember what you saved, especially when you're sharing with someone else.

Can I favorite an item?

Yes. Tap the heart icon on any item to mark it as a favorite. Favorites show up when you filter your items, so it's a great way to quickly find the things you love most or want to come back to.

Can I compare items?

Yes! If you have similar items saved, you can compare them side by side to review their details. It's handy when you're deciding between two versions of something or weighing options before you buy.

Can I delete an item?

Yes. You can delete items from My Stuff when you no longer need them. Just keep in mind that if the item was part of any of your lists, it will be removed from those too. Make sure you're ready to let it go before you confirm!

What is Save from Any App?

Save from Any App is one of the handiest features in You Waggle! While you're browsing in any other app (Amazon, Target, Instagram, TikTok, Safari, you name it), just tap the Share button and select "You Waggle" from the options. You Waggle will automatically create an item for you, pulling in the item name, description, link, and store details. No typing required. It's the fastest way to save finds without losing your place in another app.

What are Lists, and how do they work?

Lists are how you organize your items into groups that make sense for you. You could create a list for your holiday wishlist, your kitchen renovation inspiration, your favorite skincare products, a gift list for your best friend, or literally anything else. Items in My Stuff and Lists work together: when you add something to a list, it also lives in My Stuff. One item can belong to multiple lists.

How do I create a list?

Tap My Lists, then hit the + button. Give your list a name, add a description if you want, choose who can see it (Only Me, My Circle, or Everyone), and optionally add a photo. Then start adding items! You can:

• Pull in items you've already saved in My Stuff

• Add brand-new items on the fly while building the list

You can also get to list creation right from the Home screen with the quick action button.

How many lists can I have?

On the Free plan, you can create up to 25 lists. On Premium, there's no limit, so create as many as you need. You can check how many you've used at any time in Settings under Subscription and Plans.

Can I add items to a list later?

Absolutely. You don't have to fill a list all at once. Open any list anytime and tap the + button to add more items whenever you're ready.

Can I add a new item while creating a list?

Yes! While you're building or editing a list, you can create a brand new item on the spot. That item will be saved to your list and also added to My Stuff, so you can find it again later no matter which way you're browsing.

What are some list ideas?

Need a little inspiration? Here are some popular list ideas to get you started:

• My Wishlist

• Gift Ideas for [name]

• Everything in Our Home

• Favorite Books

• Things to Buy Later

• Home Projects

• Best Beauty Products

• Kids' Birthday Ideas

• Vacation Ideas

• Favorite Local Services

• Things Friends Recommended

The possibilities are pretty much endless. If it's worth remembering, it's worth a list.

Can I remove items from a list without deleting them?

Yes. Removing an item from a list just takes it off that list. It stays safe in My Stuff and on any other lists it belongs to. So if "Blue iPad" is on three lists and you remove it from one, it's still on the other two.

Can I delete a list?

Yes. You can delete a list from My Lists when you no longer need it. Deleting a list removes the list itself, but it does not delete the individual items from My Stuff. Your items are always safe even when you clean up your lists.

Can I search within my lists?

Absolutely. The search in My Lists is smart: it doesn't just search list names, it searches the items inside your lists too. So if you saved a "blue iPad" in your Electronics list, searching "blue" will find it.

What is My Circle?

My Circle is your trusted inner group: the friends, family members, and people you choose to share with in You Waggle. Think of it like your own little hive! You decide who's in your circle, and you can share items and lists specifically with those people.

How do I add someone to My Circle?

There are a couple of easy ways:

• Tap the person+ icon in My Circle, browse You Waggle users or your phone contacts, and tap Invite.

• Tap the + in the header to add someone by their name and email address or phone number. They'll get an email or text invite.

If the person you're inviting already has You Waggle, they'll get a notification to accept. If they don't have it yet, they'll receive a link to download the app and join.

What if someone I invite doesn't have You Waggle yet?

No problem! When you send an invite, they'll receive a link via email or text. That link will take them to download You Waggle, and once they sign up, they'll be connected to you and can see anything you've shared with them.

Can I remove or block someone from My Circle?

Yes. In My Circle, you can resend or delete pending invites. You can also block users. Blocked users are listed in your blocked users section in Settings, and you can unblock them at any time.

Can people in My Circle automatically see everything I save?

No. Being in your Circle doesn't automatically give someone access to all your stuff. You're always in control. Each item and list has its own visibility setting (Only Me, My Circle, or Everyone), and only content you've set to "My Circle" or "Everyone" will be visible to them. Private items stay private.

How do I share an item with someone?

There are a few ways to share an individual item:

• Tap "Share Link" on the item screen to generate a link you can paste into a text, email, or group chat.

• Scroll to "Shared With" on the item and tap Share to send it directly to someone in your Circle or add them by email or phone.

• Tap the three-dot menu at the top of any item for additional sharing options.

When you share a link publicly, anyone who opens it will need to download You Waggle to view the item. Once they do, they can add it to their own My Stuff.

How do I share a full list with someone?

Sharing a list is just as easy. From My Lists:

• Tap the three-dot menu on any list and choose Share. This lets you share the entire list with someone in your Circle and set their permission level.

• Or use "Get a Share Link" to generate a link you can send to anyone via text, email, or group chat.

Everyone who receives a shared list link will need a You Waggle account to view it.

What is a shareable link?

A shareable link is a unique link to a specific item or list in You Waggle. You can copy it and paste it into a text message, email, group chat, or any other app. The person who receives it will need a You Waggle account to view the content, but the link makes it easy to send to anyone.

Can I share a list with a group text?

Yes! Just generate a shareable link for your list and paste it into any group text, group email, or group chat. Anyone who taps the link and has a You Waggle account can view it. It's a great way to share a holiday wishlist or collaborative shopping list with the whole family at once.

Can someone change my item if I share it with them?

No. When you share an item with someone, they can view it but they cannot edit your original. If they want to save it for themselves, they can add it to their own My Stuff and it becomes their own copy. Your original stays exactly as you left it.

Why can't I share an item?

If an item is set to "Only Me," it won't be shareable until you change its visibility. Open the item, tap Edit, and update the visibility to "My Circle" or "Everyone." Then you'll be able to share it.

If I share a list, can people see every item on it?

Not necessarily. Each item on a list has its own visibility setting. If an item is set to "Only Me," it will stay private even if it lives on a list you've shared. So you can share a list freely without worrying that your private items will show up to others.

Can I share with people who aren't in my Circle yet?

Yes! When sharing an item or list, you can add someone new right from the share screen by entering their name and email or phone number. You Waggle will send them an invite and connect you, all in one step.

What does "Shared With Me" mean?

When someone shares an item or list with you, it shows up under "Shared With Me" in My Stuff or My Lists. You can view it there anytime. If you want to make it fully your own (so you can edit it and add it to your own lists), you can move it from "Shared With Me" into your My Stuff. Note: you can't edit the original item shared with you. Only the person who created it can do that.

What are list-sharing permissions?

When you share a list, you choose what the other person can do with it. There are three permission levels:

• Add Only (default): they can add new items to your list, but can't change or delete anything you added. This is available to all users.

• View Only: they can see everything on the list but can't touch it. Great for sharing a gift list when you don't want anyone making changes. (Premium only)

• Edit: they get full access to add, edit, and remove items, and even add other collaborators. Perfect for family lists you all manage together. (Premium only)

Can I set different permissions for different people?

Yes! You can customize permissions per person on a shared list. So you could give one family member Edit access, while giving another View Only. You can also change a person's permission level at any time from the Collaborators screen.

What happens to permissions if I downgrade from Premium to Free?

If you downgrade, any lists you previously shared with View Only or Edit permissions will automatically drop down to Add Only. You won't lose any of your data: those lists and items are all still there. The advanced permission settings will just reset until you upgrade again. If you do upgrade later, you can re-apply those permission levels.

Do the people I share with need Premium to use the permissions I give them?

Nope! Permission levels are based on your account, not theirs. So if you're a Premium user and you grant someone Edit access, they can use that access even if they're on the Free plan. Sharing is a team sport here.

What's the difference between Free and Premium?

Here's a quick breakdown:

• Free: Up to 100 items, up to 25 lists, Add Only sharing, ads included, and completely free!

• Premium: Unlimited items, unlimited lists, ad-free experience, and all three sharing permission levels (Add Only, View Only, Edit) for $1.99/month or $19.99/year.

Both plans let you share, organize, invite friends, and use core You Waggle features. Premium just removes the limits and gives you more control.

How do I upgrade to Premium?

You can upgrade from the Subscription and Plans screen in Settings, or you'll see the option pop up naturally if you hit a feature that requires Premium. Subscriptions are processed securely through Apple In-App Purchase (iOS) or Google Play Billing (Android).

What is the Founder Perk?

The Founder Perk is our way of saying thank you to the early You Waggle users who've been here from the beginning. If you're a Founder, when you log in you'll see a special pop-up: "Founder Perk Unlocked!" You'll get Premium access free through December 31, 2026. No credit card required during the perk period. You'll receive a heads-up before it expires so you can decide whether to continue with a paid Premium plan.

What happens if I downgrade or don't renew Premium?

Don't worry, you won't lose any of your items or lists. Here's what changes:

• Ads will appear again

• You won't be able to add new items or lists once you reach the Free limits (100 items / 25 lists)

• All shared list permissions revert to Add Only

If you upgrade again later, everything goes right back to how it was before. Ads go away, limits lift, and your advanced permissions are available again.

What is Shop Now?

Shop Now is a handy button that appears on items in your You Waggle account. If your item has a link (like from Amazon or Target), tapping Shop Now takes you directly to that product page. If there's no link, Shop Now will do a search for that item on a supported retailer so you can find it quickly. It's a simple, convenient path from "I want this" to actually getting it.

Does Shop Now mean I have to buy through You Waggle?

Not at all. Shop Now is completely optional. You can save, organize, and share items without ever tapping it. It's just there for when you're ready to take the next step and want a fast path to the product page.

Which retailers does Shop Now support?

Shop Now is designed to work with major retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Target. The exact experience can vary depending on the item and what links are available, but those are the primary supported options.

What happens when I tap Shop Now?

If your saved item includes a supported retailer link, Shop Now will open that product page directly. If there isn't a direct link saved, Shop Now will search for the item by name at a supported retailer so you can find it from there. Either way, you land somewhere useful fast.

Does You Waggle sell the products?

No. You Waggle doesn't sell products directly. Shop Now simply connects you to the retailer's page where you can review the item and purchase if you choose. All pricing, availability, shipping, and returns are handled entirely by the retailer.

Why do I see an affiliate disclosure?

Some Shop Now links are affiliate links. This means You Waggle may earn a small commission from qualifying purchases made through those links, at no extra cost to you. It's one of the ways we keep the app running, and it never affects the price you pay.

Does using Shop Now cost me more?

No. Affiliate links do not add any extra charge to your purchase. You pay the same price you'd see if you went directly to the retailer.

Can I still save items from stores that aren't supported by Shop Now?

Yes! You can save items, links, ideas, products, and services from anywhere, even if Shop Now isn't available for that specific retailer. The Save from Any App feature works across almost any app or website regardless of Shop Now support.

I cannot share an item. Why?

The item may be set to "Only Me." Open the item, tap Edit, and change the visibility to "My Circle" or "Everyone." Once you do that, you'll be able to share it normally.

Someone says they cannot see what I shared. What should I check?

A few things to check:

• Make sure the item or list visibility is set to "My Circle" or "Everyone" (not "Only Me").

• Confirm they used the correct link or accepted the invite you sent.

• Make sure they have created a You Waggle account and are signed in.

If all of those check out and they still can't see it, use Settings to send us a note and we'll help sort it out.

I shared a list, but someone can't see one of the items on it. Why?

That item may be set to "Only Me." Items with private visibility stay hidden even when they're part of a shared list. To make the item visible, open it, tap Edit, and update the visibility setting.

Why are View Only and Edit permissions grayed out?

View Only and Edit are Premium sharing permissions. If you're on the Free plan, those options will appear grayed out. You can upgrade to Premium in Settings under Subscription and Plan to unlock them.

Save from Any App didn't pull in all the item details. Why?

Some apps and websites share more information than others when you use the share button. When available, You Waggle will pull in details like the link, item name, description, or store. If it doesn't grab everything, no worries. You can always open the item and fill in the rest manually.

Shop Now didn't find the exact item I saved. Why?

If there isn't a direct retailer link saved with your item, Shop Now searches by item name. Results can vary depending on the retailer, how the item name is spelled, and current availability. If you don't see what you're looking for, try editing the item name to be more specific or searching the retailer directly.

I reached my item or list limit. What can I do?

Free users can save up to 100 items and 25 lists. If you've hit the limit, you have two options: delete some items or lists you no longer need, or upgrade to Premium for unlimited items and lists. You can upgrade any time from Settings under Subscription and Plan.

I am not receiving notifications. What should I check?

A couple of things to check:

• Go to your phone's main Settings app and make sure notifications are allowed for You Waggle.

• Open the You Waggle app and check the Home screen Notification Center for recent activity even if push notifications aren't on.

If you signed up with a phone number, you can also manage SMS notification preferences in Settings under Privacy Settings.

I invited someone, but they are still showing as invited. Why?

They may not have accepted the invite yet. You can check the status from My Circle and resend the invite if needed. Once they download the app, create an account, and accept, they'll show as connected in your Circle.

I think something is not working correctly. How do I get help?

Go to Settings and tap "Report a Problem." Choose the option that best fits the issue, add a note with as much detail as you can, and tap Submit. It goes straight to our team and we'll take a look.

I found inappropriate content or someone is bothering me. What should I do?

Use "Leave App Feedback" or "Report a Problem" in Settings to flag it. You can also block users directly from their profile or from My Circle. Your Circle should feel helpful and safe, and we take reports seriously.

Who can see my items and lists?

You're in full control of who sees your stuff. For each item and list, you choose from three visibility settings:

• Only Me: completely private. Only you can see it.

• My Circle: visible to the people you've added to your Circle.

• Everyone: visible to anyone who gets a shareable link (but they still need a You Waggle account to view it).

You can set a default visibility in Settings so every new item and list starts with the right privacy level for you.

Does You Waggle collect my personal data?

You Waggle uses aggregated, anonymous usage analytics to help improve the app and understand how features are being used. Here's what you should know:

• We never collect your item names, notes, photos, full links, or any personal identifiers.

• Your analytics data is anonymized (using a random ID that isn't connected to your account).

• You can turn off analytics tracking at any time in Settings under Usage Data Tracking.

• You can also choose to exclude your data from any external reports or exports.

Your privacy choices are saved and will stick across sessions.

How do I manage my privacy settings?

Go to Settings and tap Usage Data Tracking. From there you can toggle "Aggregated usage analytics" on or off, and separately choose whether to exclude your data from external reports and exports. You can review our full Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions in Settings as well.

Can I delete my account and data?

Yes. If you ever decide to leave, you can delete your account and all your data from Settings under Account. We're sorry to see you go, but we want you to feel confident that you have full control over your information.

What devices and operating systems does You Waggle support?

You Waggle is available for both iPhone (iOS) and Android phones. Download it from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. You can log in across devices, and your Premium status follows your account wherever you go.

I didn't receive my verification code. What do I do?

Check your spam or junk folder first! If it's not there, tap "Resend Code" on the verification screen and a new one will be sent. If you're signing up with a phone number, make sure you've entered it correctly. Still having trouble? Use the app feedback option in Settings to let us know.

How do I change my password?

Go to Settings and tap Account. From there you'll see the option to change your password. If you forget your password before logging in, use the forgot password option on the login screen.

Can I use You Waggle if someone shares a link with me but I don't have the app?

You'll need the app to view shared items and lists. When someone sends you a You Waggle link, tapping it will take you to the App Store or Google Play to download the app. Once you create your free account, the shared content will be waiting for you right where the link pointed.

What notifications will You Waggle send me?

The Home screen Notification Center is your one-stop place to see what's new, including:

• New items or lists shared with you

• Circle invites and when someone accepts yours

• Updates to shared items or lists

You can also enable push notifications on your device so you get pinged even when the app isn't open. If you signed up with a phone number, you can manage SMS notifications in Settings.

I found a bug or have a feature idea. How do I share it?

We love hearing from you! Go to Settings and tap "Leave App Feedback" or "Report a Problem." You can submit general feedback, questions, bug reports, or flag anything that seems off. Your input genuinely helps us make You Waggle better.

Why don't I see You Waggle when I try to share a link from a website or app?

You Waggle is there, it's just new to the sharing game! Your phone's share menu tends to put recently used apps at the top, so You Waggle may be hiding a bit further down the list at first. Here's what to do:

• Tap "More" (or the three-dot menu) on the share sheet.

• Scroll through the list until you find You Waggle.

• Tap it to save your item!

The more you use Save from Any App, the higher You Waggle will climb in your share menu. It learns from your habits, so it'll be front and center before you know it.

How do I update my name, username, or email?

Tap Settings, then My Account, then tap the edit icon (pencil) in the top-right corner. You can update your name, username, phone number, and email from there.

How do I log out of You Waggle?

Head to Settings, then My Account, and tap Log Out. You can log back in anytime with your email and password.

Can I see how close I am to my Free plan limits?

Yes! On the Subscription and Plan screen in Settings, you'll see a Usage section showing exactly how many items and lists you've used out of your Free plan limits (for example, 20/100 items or 5/25 lists). No surprises. 🐝

What is the Default list and item privacy setting?

This lets you choose what privacy level is automatically applied whenever you create a new item or list. Your options are:

• Only Me: just you can see it.

• My Circle (Recommended): people you've connected with in your Circle can see it.

• Everyone: visible to all You Waggle users.

You can always change the privacy on individual items or lists, no matter what your default is set to.

Can I opt into or out of SMS notifications?

Yes. If you signed up with a phone number, you can manage your SMS notification preference in Settings under Privacy Settings. Just check or uncheck the box and tap Save. You can also reply STOP to any text from us to unsubscribe at any time.

What permissions does You Waggle use and why?

You Waggle requests three device permissions to make the app work its best:

How do I block someone?

You can block a user from their profile or from your Circle. Once blocked, they cannot see your content, contact you, or add you to their Circle.

Where can I see who I've blocked?

Go to Settings and tap Blocked Users. You'll see a list of anyone you've blocked. If you haven't blocked anyone, the screen will simply show "No blocked users."

How do I unblock someone?

Go to Settings, tap Blocked Users, find the person's name, and tap Unblock. They'll be removed from your blocked list right away.

How do I leave a review for You Waggle?

Tap "Review App" in the Settings screen. It'll take you directly to the app store where you can leave a rating and review. Reviews mean a lot to a small team like ours. Thank you! 🐝

Where can I find the Privacy Policy and Terms and Conditions?

Both documents are linked directly in the Settings menu. Tap Privacy Policy or Terms and Conditions to open them in your browser. You can also find them at youwaggle.com.

Does You Waggle sell my personal data?

No. You Waggle does not sell your personal information. Any data we collect for analytics is anonymized and aggregated: no names, no item details, no photos. Your stuff is your stuff.
